Hi, I’m Clare Filmer-Ramsay

I'm a registered counsellor specialising in mental health and addiction, with experience across outpatient clinics, residential rehabilitation, hospital settings, and private practice. Throughout my career I have had the privilege of supporting individuals through some of life's most challenging moments, both in one-to-one sessions and group therapeutic settings.

I work with clients navigating a wide range of concerns, including addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, and borderline personality disorder. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Emotion Focused Therapy and at the core of everything I do is a person-centred approach that puts you and your experience first.

I believe deeply in creating a calm, safe space where you can be honest and vulnerable, and where the fear of change feels a little less daunting. Together, we work to help you understand and experience your emotions, develop healthier thought patterns, and build the interpersonal skills and assertiveness to get your needs met. My goal is to help you move away from unhelpful coping strategies and toward greater self-worth, resilience, and a meaningful practice of self-care.

I am a registered practitioner with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and am currently welcoming new clients
